RASCAL prototype
New Frame Production
I have been working on some new production frames,
for several years.
There is quite a list for me, to proceed my journey in this direction
– But above all, a returning question on “What do you ride?”
And I must admit, that I have never ridden any of the models, that I have sold in the shop (Except for the Müli cargobike, that I use everyday)
So this is my step to bring in some bikes in my own design,
that I would love ride myself!
And next year the shop is turning 15years,
so I guess it’s about god damn time…
And this fall I recived my second RASCAL sample frames,
and besides of some minor adjustments, it’s all,
that I have dreamt of.
BUT – there is a loong way from sample frames to production,
so i’m gonna need your help to realize this dream.
Please reach out to me at kontakt@hrvelo.dk
if you could be up for a pre-order. I will need to gather quite a stack of money to make this happen.
Else it’s also a very big help, if you follow and share the project
with friends, family, strangers and on social media
Thank you for the read!
Wish you all the best!
Kind regards Magnus
What is RASCAL?
Rascal is my take on a modern
do-it-all bike, leaning towards a monster
gravelbike.
I come from the mountainbike and dirt scene, and I used to ride all the time, when I was younger.
Still today, most of my friendships origin from that time.
I don’t think we will do the same kind of riding again,
but with the Rascal, I
wanted to make a bike, that could make me feel that way again.
I bike I could build up and cruise around town, but also a bike
that was fun enough to play around at hit the local trail with.
So wether you build it up to run single tracks
in the forrest, dress it up as a donky and goes bikepacking
or build the dadbike to rule them all – The RASCAL got you!
Rascal is made of chromoly steel tubing,
and the design is ofcause a tribute to the old Klunker-style,
that I personally really loves, obviously
It’s designed to run max 622-60 tires without mudguards
or 622-50 with mudguards.
(As a max)
It’s designed with sliding “Rocker Dropouts”
with open seat stay on the right side to accomodate
the option of Belt Drive.
The Rocker dropouts comes in two versions:
Thru Axle 12×142
or std 10×135
Fork is thru axle 12×100 only
With this design, the bike can be build with:
Internal gears with chain or belt drive
Singlespeed with chain or belt drive
External gears with chain
It has a slot to run an internal dropper post routing
on the back of the seatpost.
(I think this hidden design is the nicest solution)
(Frames will be supplied with inserts for both dropper and no dropper)
And of cause threaded holes for most of your desires:
Rear rack, mudguards, basket, rack…
Full geometry chart will follow.
